This project has been set up by the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) in direct response to the needs of the victims of hurricanes Irma and Maria. Apart from the needs of the general community in the affected islands, USC has several current students from these territories who’s families have been directly affected by these devastating natural disasters. The University has set up a support system to provide assistance to these students through the “Care” part of this campaign and will be sending a team of missionaries to assist with the rebuilding efforts in the “Repair” aspect.
The “Share” portion of the relief effort culminates with a massive Concert/Telethon event on Saturday, September 30th from 5-9 pm at the University of the Southern Caribbean Auditorium. Gospel artists from all over Trinidad and Tobago will gather together in support of the disaster relief effort. The public is invited to participate by contributing donations of cash, clothing and non-perishable foodstuff. Collections will take place on Saturday at the event and continue for one week at the university.
