The Reach Foundation for Social Development is an NGO that was established to improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups with a particular interest towards reducing social isolation among the elderly by bridging the inter-generational gap and strengthening the community to meet the changes in population. The NGO activities are centered on:
- Development social research as it relates to vulnerable and at risk populations, with emphasis on older adults/elderly population
- Empowerment and advocacy sessions through workshops and continued learning programmes (wellness and maintenance of independence)
- Community building initiatives through an intergenerational approach, currently the NGO has a Reaching Minds Book Club which promotes and encourages our youths and young adults to volunteer and share time through reading and social activities with the elderly in the Homes for the Aged. The programme is to be extended into the communities for persons living within their own private residence.
- Human Development initiatives which helps to connect older adults with skills to help our youths and young adults in developing themselves to well round individuals and pioneers of humanity.
